We have been without this law for some time and it will be nice to have it back. We still have a lot of work yet to do on this bill as we have to get it from the committee and into the Senate and then get the Senate to approve the bill, so when the guys call asking for your help please do not hesitate to give it. If we all work together then we can get great things accomplished.

On a positive note, we were able to get SB 373, which dealt with removing the age 35 hiring limit, killed on the Senate Floor. This bill, if passed could of had a detrimental impact on our retirement system. As of right now we have the second best retirement system in the state and we want to keep it that way.

If you happen to run into Doug Neil or Kurt Bushnell in yoours or their travel be sure to thank them for all the hard work they do on our behalf. I have been able to spend dome time in Helena with them this session and now realize just how hard and how much work is involved with the legislature.

Keep safe.

Ed Cleary

I was hired by Butte Silver Bow F.D. January of 1991 and earned my EMT license the following year. I was the EMS Coordinator for our department for seven years and was an original member of the state steering committee for Critical Incident Stress Management. In 2007 at state convention I was elected to serve as the pension board memeber at large for MSFA. My wife Susan and I have two daughters, Danna who is married to Curtis Kindt, who is on the job for Butte Silver Bow. They have two boys, who keep grampa very busy. Our second daughter is Marran who also resides in Butte. I hope to keep this blog page updated to let you know what is happening with our pension system. Keep safe my Brothers and Sisters.
