IAFF Legislative Conference

Just a quick note to let everybody know that myself and V-Pres Ed Cleary along with MSCOPFF Pres Tod Miller and Political Director Joe Sands attended the IAFF Legislative Conference in Washington D.C.. We were able to meet with both MT Senators and Congressman Rehberg to talk about FF issues we have here in MT and around the country. All meetings went really well and we were able to lobby for support of MT firefighters. We also were able to sit in on a Pension seminar that had presentations on pension systems in Florida, Utah, Alaska and California and found out just how bad some states are in as it pertains to there pension systems. We also met with IAFF staff from Health and Safety to help us with our Presumptive Illness Legislation that we are currently working on along with the MSCOPFF's. We will have an update at Convention.
